Formonthills Community Woodland Linear

Description

This is a short woodland stroll through the woodlands bordering the nearby community, and it is managed by the Woodland Trust. This is a young woodland and all the trees are native to Fife and include oak, ash, birch, cherry and Scots pine. During the spring and summer there are also blankets of wild flowers for visitors to enjoy. There is a large car park with no designated bays and the most accessible route is accessed by going out of the car park via the entrance and the start of the walk in on your left. This section is an 'out and back' route but you can continue onto a circular route (See Phototrail for Formonthills Community Woodland Circular) but the path deteriorates after the end of this route and becomes narrow with unstable surfaces and gradients in excess of Countryside for All Standards
