Route Filmstrip & Description

This circular walk starts close by Auchinstarry Marina. It climbs about 30m to begin with before dropping back down to the path at the level of the canal. The gradient runs for 350m at about 8% with occasional sections as steep as 12% (1:8).A restrictive kissing gate will limit some people's access beyond the top of the hill. The surface of the trail is firm but uneven in some places. It is wide enough for two people to walk side by side except of about 100m along the canal bank. There is a picnic area near the canal but no other accessible seats.
